Carrie O’Donnell, President [Return to the list]
Carrie founded the company in 1990. Her know-how spans over 20 years in the education industry, with an emphasis on higher education, corporate training, and distance learning. Carrie is a recognized expert in the use of market development and intelligence to create winning products, strategies, and business practices in today's turbulent marketplace. She has created, tested, and marketed educational products and brands in numerous media - including online, CD-ROM, print, video, and live broadcast. She is considered the cutting-edge expert in helping companies transition from print to online, interactive products. Prior to founding the company, Carrie served as Marketing Manager at Macmillan Publishers, where she launched market-leading textbooks for college courses in business, economics, social sciences, and science. Carrie's sales experience includes work with Scott Foresman, CBS Publishing, and Holt, Dryden & Saunders

Joana Jebsen, Vice President of Business Development and Marketing [Return to the list]
Joana brings a wealth of experience in publishing, marketing, and business development. She spent ten years in executive roles at HarperCollins Publishers, including Senior Marketing Manager in the Harper College division, and Associate Publishing Director of HarperReference. At Questia, an online academic research service, she was Executive Director, Strategic Publishing Development. Joana has managed complex business, market and product development projects for information and education companies, including Factiva and Thomson Learning, where she oversaw all the research projects for Thomson Learning Labs. She has an M.B.A. from the Wharton School.

Joanne Butler, Editorial Director [Return to the list]

Joanne’s ability to assemble, train and motivate high-performance editorial teams has contributed to the successful launch of a broad range of products across multiple disciplines in the educational publishing field. An adaptable, creative and strategic publisher with over 20 years experience, Joanne is especially skilled at building successful networks of professional business partners and aligning resources to cost-effectively execute the most complex projects. Joanne’s experience includes managing multimillion-dollar engagements for high profile clients including McGraw-Hill, Cengage, Houghton-Mifflin, Kaplan, and Pearson. Prior to joining O’Donnell, Joanne held positions as  Associate Publisher for Kaplan Professional, Executive Editor for Worth Publishers, and Sponsoring Editor for Irwin/McGraw-Hill.

 

 

 

Shannon Gattens, Media Director [Return to the list]

Over the past 13 years, in positions ranging from media producer and project manager to director of media and assessment, Shannon has gained experience in eLearning, content management, usability, instructional design, and production working closely with internal staff, outside developers, and clients. Shannon has worked with a long list of academic publishers and providers including Dolphin Interactive, McGraw-Hill, John Wiley & Sons, Oxford University Press, Prentice Hall, and Cengage Learning. She also has taken extensive course work in usability and instructional technology.

Eileen joined O'Donnell and Associates in 2008.  Prior to spending a few years at home to raise her children she was a relocation accounting analyst with Coldwell Banker Relocation.  She previously held a position with Nestle USA’s Stouffer Division.  Her experiences in the accounting field have enabled her to successfully maintain the honoraria processes at O’Donnell.  She holds a BA in Accounting from Assumption College.

 

Margaret Lannamann, Editorial Director, Advanced Placement [Return to the list]
Margaret works on editorial projects for O'Donnell & Associates, creating new products and revising and refining existing ones. She is also the project manager for a number of college text books. Before joining O'Donnell, she was an editor for a gift book publisher, where she worked with writers and designers from the earliest planning stages of a book all the way through to production

Patti Arneson, Project Manager [Return to the list]
Patti has 25 years experience in college textbook publishing as a research analyst, marketing manager and division sales manager. She has an intuitive ability to shape market driven products and uncover opportunities to create marketing and product solutions. She is excellent at organizing and implementing programs and objectives. Prior to O'Donnell & Associates she was with Prentice Hall for over ten years as a research analyst and marketing manager; Holt, Dryden & Saunders for seven years as a marketing manager and sales manager. She began her publishing career with Prindle, Weber & Schmidt as a sales representative.

Christine Caperton, Project Manager/Editor [Return to the list]
Christine has over 30 years of editing experience, with an emphasis on higher education products since 1989. She was manager of editorial development for the humanities division of Harcourt College Publishers as well as manager of the photo and permissions department. As an independent editor since 1999, she has developed content for humanities, social sciences, business, and mathematic educational products as well as fiction and nonfiction trade books. She recently expanded her content scope after attending culinary school and working in several professional kitchens. She developed recipes for the American Heart Association’s No-Fad Diet: A Personal Plan for Healthy Weight Loss, published in 2005.
John Haley, Project Manager/ Editor [Return to the list]
With more than 19 years of publishing experience, John's depth and breadth of knowledge in developing content has been an important part of O'Donnell's success. In that time, John has managed projects for a variety of higher ed publishers, including Harcourt and Holt, Rinehart, and Winston. John's content knowledge has served O'Donnell and its clients well as he has developed more than 50 titles in a variety of disciplines including psychology, history, political science, anthropology, archaeology, sociology, criminal justice, philosophy, economics, and English. In addition, John has authored two research-based reference texts for high school health courses and he has contributed several hundred articles to academic reference works. John's impressive background also includes the development of about a dozen interactive CD-ROM products and three online courses.

 

Alison Harford, Project and Marketing Coordinator [Return to the list]
Alison joined O'Donnell & Associates in 2010.  Alison is "command central" at O'Donnell, as she provides support to project managers, freelancers, and the executive team.  She holds a B.A. in economics and political science from Illinois Wesleyan University.  Alison's background in economic research has provided her with the tools necessary for coordinating market development projects.  Alison enjoys traveling, and her hobbies include badminton, swimming, miniature golf, studying violin, and collecting antique coins.
